Words From the Brotherhood of Light

Unity.

Unity is an archetype we have chosen to hold on the playa. This is a
responsibility on us, as a community, to come to terms with what Unity
is.

Unity is. Unity is us. There is no you, or me, or rock or planet or
stars, only us. That is Unity. It neither attracts nor repels; it
simply is, and it is for us to know this. We may be ignorant of Unity,
or dwell in it, but we cannot be other than what we are, One. Least of
all can there be a Pantheogenesis or an Entheon, or a Jiffy Lube for
that matter; these are reflections of ideas on a deep pool, seen in
our dreams. Unity is what Is.

We have chosen Unity, or it has chosen us. We must be true to it. Let
us take a moment to be aware of Unity. Let us be aware of Unity as the
rays of the Sun, which give us our common vision. As the air we
breathe, passing through and transforming us, stoking our fire. As the
water we drink, and bathe in, and splash about, which moves through us
all from cloud to ocean in the sacred cycle of the Moon. In the food
which gives us sustenance, which carries the light of the Sun within
us that we may have motion and heat and create as is our nature.

the Heart

The Heart is also a space we hold, and hopefully hold dear, on the
playa which is, for ephemeral moments, our home. We must dwell in the
Heart. Our actions must flow from the Heart. We have taken on that
debt.

The Heart. The Heart! Sacred rhythm, that sends us out into the world
and always, infallibly, brings us home. The Heart attracts, always; we
can hearken the call, or reject it. That is our choice, but our paths
lead back to the Heart, always, always. This rhythm sustains us,
carries us across the great water. In the Heart all is in balance, in
the Heart all prayers are heard. When we stand around the Heart we
stand together, each of us one, together. The mystery of incarnation
is revealed in the Heart; there dwells a temple, vast as a cavern, but
full of sweetness, and glistering with gentle light.

In the Heart we can meet the Beloved. This space is our great gift to
the community of artists and visionaries which has given us so much. I
am honored to participate with you in the creation of this sacred
space.

You are my friends and lovers. I invite you to stand with me, in your
bodies of light, around the Heart, which lives in each of our hearts.
We can meet there, and there in the presence of the Beloved, and the
spirits and the sacred ancestors, we can laugh, and touch, and see
each other as what we are, achingly gorgeous, raw spirit, in love with
itself and everything.

There is nothing we cannot accomplish; everything is already done. We
have only to play.

As Heaven's Gate opens through me, I clear all discord & allow my Divine Harmony to reflect perfectly in all that is around me; I allow all that is to flow and be itself - entrusted with the harmonic grace and geometric-angelic simplicities that ALL IS.

I trust in my own divine harmony.
I surrender and give of myself into the harmonic flow of my own living experience without fear or fault or failure in stillness.

I release myself of doubt and fear - I release myself of the doubt of my truly wonder-filled and awesome experience - may I only enjoy the wonder and flow of my life and may all pain release into the flowing bliss of simply being as it is.

Thank you to all who have contributed to my bliss, who have offered their loving attention to allow for, invite forth, and nourish my joy - that I may share it freely and in the flow of my life.

Through the matrices - through the valleys and peaks, I surrender to the divine timing of it all for it is truly beyond my comprehension - my capacity to know - may I only rest in the bliss of the stillness that is & awaken anew in each moment with gratitude filling my heart & joyous peace resounding the fields around me.

Q: But who creates the world?

Maharaj: The Universal Mind makes and unmakes everything. The Supreme imparts reality to whatever comes into being. To say that it is the universal love may be the nearest we can come to it in words. Just like love it makes everything real, beautiful, desirable.

Q: Why desirable?

M: Why not? Wherefrom come all the powerful attractions that make all created things respond to each other, that bring people together, if not from the Supreme? Shun not desire; see only that it flows into the right channels. Without desire you are dead. But with low desires you are a ghost.

Q: What is the experience that comes nearest to the Supreme?

M: Immense peace and boundless love. Realize that whatever there is true, noble, and beautiful in the universe, it all comes from you, that you yourself are at the source of it. The gods and goddesses that supervise the world may be most wonderful and glorious beings; yet they are like the gorgeously dressed servants who proclaim the power and the riches of their master.

Q: How does one reach the Supreme state?

M: By renouncing all lesser desires. As long as you are pleased with the lesser, you cannot have the highest. Whatever pleases you, keeps you back. Until you realize the unsatisfactoriness of everything, its transiency and limitation, and collect your energies in one great longing, even the first step is not made. On the other hand, the integrity of the desire for the Supreme is by itself a call from the Supreme. Nothing, physical or mental, can give you freedom. You are free once you understand that your bondage is of your own making and you cease forging the chains that bind you.
