Pigs Gettin' Fattened for the Slaughter

Remember what you created...

Remember what you give away when you take something...

Remember where your food and your inspiration comes from....

"He asked, ‘ Do you know how to catch wild pigs?’ The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. ‘You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how To forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity." (blog)

Political Benders

So I felt it was time to try again and see how my feelings and thoughts have shifted since I last took the 'Pick Your Candidate' simple quiz to get me a simplified and general idea of my political aim as far as choosing a candidate. It appears as though I have loosened my views and am more ambiguously aligned with the candidates in general. I am not surprised that my score with Ron Paul has risen dramatically...

These are my results as of today (as compared to July 22, 2007):

Kucinich 46
(you have no disagreements with this candidate)

Gravel 37
(you have no disagreements with this candidate)

Obama 25
Patriot Act, Border Fence, Iran Sanctions, Same-Sex Marriage

Clinton 20
Death Penalty, Patriot Act, Border Fence, Iran Sanctions, Iran - Military Action, Same-Sex Marriage

Biden 20
Death Penalty, Patriot Act, Border Fence, Iran Sanctions, Same-Sex Marriage

Edwards 19
Death Penalty, Patriot Act, Iran Sanctions, Iran - Military Action, Same-Sex Marriage

Dodd 18
Death Penalty, Patriot Act, Border Fence, Iran Sanctions, Iran - Military Action

Paul 16 (currently of great interest to me... although we apparently don't match up perfectly, I am totally in favor of his intention to remove the Income Tax and Federal Reserve system and to reform the drug policies, which are big issues for me that this poll does not take into consideration.)
Abortion Rights, ANWR Drilling, Kyoto, Assault Weapons Ban, Citizenship Path for Illegals, Border Fence, Net Neutrality, Minimum Wage Increase, Same-Sex Marriage, Universal Healthcare

Richardson 13
Death Penalty, Assault Weapons Ban, Patriot Act, Iran Sanctions, Iran - Military Action, Same-Sex Marriage

Brownback -13
Thompson -16
Cox -20
Huckabee -23
McCain -24
Giuliani -30
Tancredo -38
Romney -40
Hunter -41

MAPS Reader Available Online

The latest MAPS Bulletin is available to read/download online.

This latest collection of articles/documents focuses on the personal experiences with psychedelics and their personal and intimate effects on people's bodies, minds, and lives. I have read a few of the essays and have found them to be very inspiring, passionate, and moving. I imagine that this issue will remind many people within and without the psychedelic community of why it is that we choose to take action and stand for the appropriate understanding, relationship, and application of these plants and substances that we have been sculpted and enlivened by.

Many blessings as the dark night of the seasons rolls over us and we are reminded why it is so lovely to be awakened by a throbbing star-sun every day of our lives.

ALOHA

Sweet days into sweet night,
